I know what it's like to have an idea or expertise that seems perfect for a book, and to be stuck wondering: Would anyone really want to read this? Would anyone want to publish this? How would I find out if they did? Can I actually write it? Where do I even start?!?
My practice as an Author Accelerator Certified nonfiction book coach is informed by decades of experience as a freelance writer and book author, magazine publisher, and editor in a variety of settings. My strengths are in informational and descriptive nonfiction - writing that helps readers learn new skills or habits, understand the world and themselves, and take actions that contribute to a better life and a better world.

I work with non-fiction writers in the early stages of developing their books who want a coaching partner to help them define their idea and audience, and complete a professional proposal to pitch their book to agents and publishers. I'm most interested in working with writers who invite readers to take concrete, specific steps in their own lives that support broad or systemic change on issues they care about.
If this sounds like you, please tell me about your book idea and let's see if we'd be a good fit to work together!
A book coach, just like a sports coach or a business coach, is in your corner with game plans and analysis that help you leverage your talents to turn in a winning performance.
Writing a book is rewarding work and it's achievable - 4 million books were published in 2025, fueled by both traditional publishing and self-publishing. It still takes focus, time, and hard work to write a book that readers will spend the time and money to read. But it's only part of the equation that goes into actually seeing a book in print or on bookstore shelves.
As an Author Accelerator Certified book coach, I will be a supportive partner to guide you through the process of:
A book is a structured way of sharing your big idea, but you need to understand the structure and the expectations of readers and those you hope will publish the book in order to have a viable proposal. I will guide you through the Author Accelerator Blueprint tool to clarify your book's point and purpose, identify and understand your ideal reader, and map out the structure and chapter progression for your book. Investing in this 8-week process is most valuable early in the process of developing your idea or to stress-test an idea you have begun writing. $550
Non-fiction books are often sold before the manuscript is completed on the strength of a concise but thorough book proposal that must cover certain aspects of the book's structure and marketability, while also demonstrating the author's writing ability and style. I'll coach you through the development of a book proposal ready to pitch to agents and publishers, including audience analysis, marketing plan, comparable titles, and sample chapters. This is a natural next step after completing the Blueprint process. If you are already working on your proposal, I will recommend completing a Mini-Blueprint as part of the proposal package. This process can be completed in 4-6 months. $1450-$2100
Your advice and encouragement have been invaluable!
Thanks for talking me off the ledge and keeping me accountable. I can see the progress and now have a path forward for completing my proposal and manuscript.
